Strange Booting behavior

Postby audiophil on Thu Feb 12, 2009 12:33 pm

Hello,

since two weeks my ripserver show's a strange booting behavior.

It's booting with its normal beeps but shows no HTML interface nor can I access the network-drive

a) Rebooting the network switch then the ripserver doesn't help, but the IP-Adress show's up on the ip client list of the switch
b) Connecting a display and keyboard to the ripserver everything works fine and ripserver show's up on HTML Interface
c) Disconnecting display and keyboard - then start up again - no HTML interface nor can I connect to the network-drive

Any idea what's wrang ? Should I re-install the system with the ISO-CD-ROM ?

Cheers

Yeah, I would say it's about time to try that. I have done it two or three times with no damage, even if my problem (Ripserver no longer ripping discs, appears not to recognise CD-ROM drive) has not been resolved. Just out of interest, do you have the torrents plug-in installed? My problems started once I did - suspect I have some CentOS level problem that means I'm going to have to get seriously tweaky...

I have posted elsewhere on the forum about a similar issue to the one described above. Did the re-install work? Also, where can I get a reboot disc?
